27th Edition of the Nuits du Sud Festival in Vence
Travel, gather, reveal, share, offer, surprise: this is the ambition set for these Nuits du Sud. The global sound factory settles in Vence with French icon Christophe Maé, Synapson, Cerrone, Raphaël, Caravan Palace, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Julian Marley, Fatoumata Diawara, and promising artists like Dame Blanche, Hollie Cook, Luiza, accompanied by warm-up acts each night including Judah Roger DJ set.
Promising irresistible rhythms, the programming combines styles and offers bold encounters, musical hybridizations mixing rhythms and sounds from around the world.
The Nuits du Sud festival, intergenerational and eco-labeled, is also committed to welcoming people with disabilities.

Every summer, for 27 years, the Nuits du Sud festival in Vence has welcomed festival-goers for new musical encounters in the heart of the beautiful city of Vence. Always driven by the same artistic demand, the event claims a resolutely festive spirit and promises unforgettable evenings. The central square, surrounded by bars and restaurants, carries the memory of rhythms, the greatest voices, and sounds of the world. Popular headliners eagerly awaited, emerging artists to discover without delay, or budding regional talents, all contribute to a joyful celebration of music in all its diversity!
For this 27th edition of the festival, from July 4 to 13, the six evenings will follow this tradition. An experience to be lived intensely, passionately, and together!
A Visionary Artistic Direction
The artistic direction, carried by the COMBAT group (Radio Nova and Rock en Seine), aims once again to present programming anchored in its time, offering to discover the most captivating artists of the moment and to listen to their often engaged messages. The major musical event of the Côte d’Azur promises irresistible rhythms by combining styles and offering bold encounters and musical hybridizations mixing rhythms and sounds from around the world.
The global sound factory settles in Vence: reggae, Cuban music, trap made in the USA, electro, Afro pop/Afro folk, pop and soul, dancehall, and hip hop intertwine. A demanding program combining modernity and innovation with a focus on the creation of musical genres such as the tropical electro pop of Luiza, the Tropical Pop of Hollie Cook, or the electro-pop of Synapson accompanied by the king of disco, Cerrone!
A Unique and Festive Setting
Located about twenty kilometers from Nice, between the sea and the mountains on a Provençal square, the town of Vence transforms the Place du Grand Jardin into an open-air concert hall to host the Nuits du Sud festival. A unique moment in the heart of this town of 18,000 inhabitants that pulses to the rhythms of all music. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and ice cream parlors, all around the large stage, the Place du Grand Jardin welcomes festival-goers in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
Discovery & Communion
Music, to enchant the world: the invited artists showcase diverse music and cultural identities from here and elsewhere in line with the festival’s cultural project. Music tells the world, it has the power to bring people together and move them, to make them play and dance, to experience live performances and share them. The festival pays particular attention to the messages of artists who, through their talent and capacity for otherness, contribute to current global musical creation while engaging through their lyrics for an inclusive world, respecting the rights of minorities and women.
The 2024 Awards
Three bands will perform on the professional stage during the 2024 edition at 8:30 PM for a 45-minute set. At the end of these concerts, a jury prize, an audience prize, and a France Bleu Azur and France 3 Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur prize will be awarded.
- The Jury Prize: During the festival, the winner of the “jury prize” is selected by a jury of cultural actors following the talent’s performance at the festival.
- The Audience Prize: During the festival, the public votes on the festival’s website for their favorite band/artist.
- France Bleu Azur & France 3 Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur Prize: In the spring, the public votes on the festival’s website to select a band labeled France Bleu / France 3 Côte d’Azur.
Volunteers, the Lifeblood of the Festival
Volunteers are central players in the festival, contributing to the success of the event by experiencing a unique immersion in the world of festival organization! More than 100 faithful, willing, and motivated volunteers mobilize for the festival. Young students from schools in the department come to have an immersive experience within the festival, accompanied by young people from the municipal council and the Vence Youth Center.
As a cultural actor, the Nuits du Sud festival has a responsibility to work for a territory and with the inhabitants, economic actors, and its audience.
