At the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, Benetti proudly showcased its most recent innovations in environmentally friendly yachting, unveiling new models from its prestigious B.Yond and Motopanfilo series. Remaining true to its legacy as a distinguished yacht builder, Benetti consistently breaks new ground by incorporating state-of-the-art technological advancements to address the increasing ecological demands in the luxury yachting domain.
A Strong Commitment to Sustainable Practices
Benetti reaffirmed its commitment to a sustainable lifestyle by announcing the production of eight hybrid vessels for the B.Yond and B.Now series. During a press conference at the luxurious Hotel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo, held alongside the Monaco Yacht Show, the brand introduced its latest advancements to an international audience of journalists and brokers.
Marco Valle, the CEO of Benetti, opened the event by emphasizing the impressive accomplishments of the group for the fiscal year 2023-2024. With revenues of €1.3 billion and a project backlog of €2.6 billion, Benetti anticipates a 15% increase for the upcoming season. This ambitious target is backed by a robust investment plan of €160 million, designed to continue the brand’s strategic objectives for the period 2025-2027.
This success is primarily attributed to the remarkable results achieved by the Benetti division, which currently has 58 vessels on order, totaling 30,900 gross tons, as confirmed by Daniela Petrozzi, Benetti’s sales director.
The B.Yond Collection: Innovation Meets Environmental Responsibility
The B.Yond range stands out for its ability to combine technological innovation with a commitment to environmental stewardship. Benetti develops this range based on the concept of sustainable living, incorporating pioneering solutions to reduce the ecological footprint of luxury yachts.
With advanced electrification systems, the yachts in the B.Yond collection enable reductions in fuel consumption of up to 20%. Benetti boasts the widest range of hybrid models available, with 90% of its designs offered in hybrid or diesel-electric options. Onboard energy management is further enhanced through heat recovery systems and direct expansion air-conditioning technology, resulting in service consumption reductions of up to 40%.
Moreover, the shipyard has signed an agreement with ENI to use HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) biofuel across all its operations. This collaboration has facilitated a reduction of CO2 emissions by approximately 1,000 tons annually. This fuel, compatible with the entire Benetti fleet, can diminish greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 90% when employed as onboard fuel.
Benetti goes further by routinely installing SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems on its yachts under 500 GT, even though this is not a legal requirement for this category. According to Benetti’s estimates, this initiative reduces NOx emissions by 2.5 tons per yacht each year, allowing its vessels to operate in protected marine areas.
B.Yond 57M: A Vessel for Diverse Adventures
The B.Yond 57M embodies the spirit of exploration with a design that accommodates a variety of cruising experiences. This model offers three stern configurations: the “Beach” version, featuring a spacious outdoor area and swimming pool; the “Air” version, equipped with a touch-and-go helipad that can transform into a veranda; and the “Water” version, specifically designed for storing marine exploration equipment.
The extensive glazing of this 57-meter yacht allows natural light to flood the interiors, using carbon black-finished wood to create luminous spaces with panoramic ocean views. This model is designed to provide a luxurious cruising experience while minimizing environmental impact, thanks to its cutting-edge hybrid system.
B.Yond 40M: A New Era of Yachting Innovation
The B.Yond 40M is characterized by its four decks, each dedicated to a specific purpose. With around 150 square meters of social spaces surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, this 40-meter yacht offers interiors flooded with natural light. The lighter tones utilized, including bleached brushed oak, provide depth and character while ensuring durability.
This model, designed for long voyages, offers flexible layouts that cater to the specific needs of its users while delivering the classic elegance that defines the Benetti brand.
Motopanfilo 45M: A Contemporary Take on Yachting
The Motopanfilo 45M, featuring a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, reinterprets the “Navetta” concept by fusing modernity with a sense of community. Developed in collaboration with RWD for the exterior design and Lazzarini & Pickering Architetti for the interior layout, this model introduces the Veranda Deck® concept.
The Veranda Deck® completely opens the salon on the main deck on three sides, creating a seamless transition to a veranda overlooking the infinity pool, with unobstructed vistas of the horizon. Natural materials such as wicker, rattan, and bamboo enrich both interior and exterior spaces, creating a unique sensory experience that emphasizes the connection with nature.
B.Loft: An Innovative Perspective on Yacht Design
The B.Loft project, envisioned by Cassetta Yacht Designers, presents a modern vision of architecture aboard yachts. With its contemporary residential loft atmosphere, B.Loft provides an unparalleled experience on a megayacht. A standout feature of this project is the Cabana located on the main deck, which redefines the beach club concept.
This panoramic area boasts a 270-degree view, complemented by fold-down wings that further expand the available space. B.Loft merges the proportions of a villa with the brightness of a loft, featuring ceilings of about four meters in height and expansive outdoor areas, some of which can be transformed into interiors for maximum adaptability and personalization.
