Industry Minister and Shenzhen Federation Secretary-General Discuss AI Collaboration
Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, welcomed Chen Daixing, Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Federation, during his visit to Bahrain at the invitation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization – Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO-ITPO).
The meeting revolved around discussions regarding bilateral cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and other shared areas of interest.
The minister emphasized the significance of fostering entrepreneurship among young individuals, promoting innovation, and investing in AI. He underscored the role of youth in economic development and innovation, as well as the necessity of providing them with the necessary support to nurture their entrepreneurial projects.
He commended the Shenzhen Federation for being one of the world’s leading hubs for technological innovation.
The Secretary-General lauded Bahrain’s efforts in providing valuable opportunities for technical exchanges and collaborations in research and development.
Dr. Hashim Hussain, the Head of the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office, highlighted the Kingdom’s role as a gateway to the digital transformation of existing industrial and commercial systems towards digitization and AI.
