12th International Government Communication Forum in Sharjah: Unlocking Tomorrow Wealth
The 12th edition of the International Government Communication Forum is set to kick off tomorrow in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, with the participation of over 250 Arab and international speakers. Under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the event will take place at the Sharjah Expo Center, bearing the theme “Today’s Resources, Tomorrow’s Wealth.”
This forum serves as a global platform enriching the field of communication through more than 90 main and side sessions, inspirational speeches, proactive activities, meetings, and programs across 14 platforms. It features over 250 speakers from various fields and experiences and enjoys the support of more than 35 local, regional, and international partners.
The focus of this year’s forum revolves around the activation of communication’s role in resource and wealth management within four main axes: “Natural Resources,” “Non-Material Resources,” “Technology and Data (Wealth of the Era),” and “Future Wealth (Post-Known Wealth).” The overarching goal is to establish a comprehensive developmental culture that supports individual well-being and societal stability.
In addition to presenting ideas and practical insights, distinguished speakers will participate in sessions and inspirational speeches. Prominent figures include Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Al-Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment and President of the Emirates Council for Food Security, the renowned American judge Frank Caprio, often referred to as “the Compassionate Judge,” and David Daokui Li, an economics professor at Tsinghua University.
Furthermore, Dr. Rajaa Al Marzouqi, the General Coordinator and Head of the Gulf Negotiating Team, Dr. Osama Kamal, former Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in Egypt, and Dr. Ayman Ayash, Head of the Royal Committee for Mining in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, are among the distinguished speakers at the forum.
Other notable speakers include Her Excellency Maria Antonia, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources in the Philippines, Koh Gyeong Ju, President of the Presidential Committee on Digital Transformation in South Korea, Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khatabi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, and Robin Sharma, a prominent Canadian author and speaker. Additionally, Professor Gert Kraus, the Global CEO of “KidZania,” Ambassador Marco A. Suazo, President of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research New York Office, and Dr. Van Ghang, a professor of economics at Peking University and the head of the Chinese Development Institute will grace the event.
The forum will span two days, discussing the importance of international partnerships for optimal resource utilization and highlighting successful global experiences in natural resource management, including achievements in food and water security, and clean energy resource utilization.
Moreover, the forum will delve into the significance of non-material wealth for societies, encompassing human and cultural wealth, including heritage, arts, sciences, talents, education technologies, and communications. It will emphasize the role of government communication in defining the concept of these wealth categories, highlighting their value and impact on development. The forum will also address the challenges and solutions in building and preserving these forms of wealth, encouraging all segments of society to focus on nurturing and transforming them into a social and economic force.
