Deputy Prime Minister Chairs BIPA Board Meeting
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized the vital importance of continually evolving education and training methods to align with the objectives of the comprehensive development initiative led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and endorsed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This approach will ultimately benefit the national workforce.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla stressed the need for these methods to stay current with the latest trends and best practices in public administration. This alignment is essential to create a unified institutional framework that enhances outputs and improves productivity quality. The link between training, professional development, career advancement, and leadership skill enhancement will bolster the national economy and realize the Kingdom’s developmental aspirations.
These remarks were delivered by the Deputy Premier while presiding over the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA).
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla and fellow board members extended their congratulations to Shaikh Duaij bin Salman bin Duaij Al Khalifa on his appointment as President of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) through a royal decree. They also welcomed him to the BIPA board.
The meeting also recognized the dedicated efforts of Ahmed Zayed Al Zayed in advancing the civil service sector during his tenure as the head of the CSB and his membership on the BIPA board.
In the course of the meeting, Hamad bin Faisal Al Maliki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the BIPA Board of Directors.
The board also approved BIPA’s annual plan for 2024 following a presentation by Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director-General of BIPA and a board member. Additionally, it reviewed BIPA’s annual training plan in collaboration with CSB to determine the training needs of various government entities.
The Board of Directors also discussed BIPA’s collaboration with the Labor Fund (Tamkeen) in the “Kheberat” program, which aims to empower young Bahraini job seekers by enhancing their learning skills and offering practical experience through on-the-job training in private sector organizations.
While inspecting the leadership programs currently being implemented by BIPA for public and private sector employees, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla emphasized the expanded scope of BIPA’s work, catering to both public and private sector affiliates, both locally and internationally.
The trainees expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for his encouragement, highlighting the government’s commitment, under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to invest in human resources and the national competencies of the kingdom. They believe this investment will enable them to contribute effectively and positively to Bahrain’s development journey. The trainees also affirmed that they have benefited from BIPA’s programs, which have honed their skills and capabilities in alignment with their professional requirements.
