Gaining entry to the central computer system. Registration is currently open for the Arab Youth Hackathon.
Young innovators from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt can now submit their applications for the regional initiative aimed at addressing climate change in entrepreneurship.
The initiative centers on discovering intelligent remedies for challenges influenced by climate change, such as agriculture, the circular economy, water sustainability, and renewable energy. This hackathon is a collaborative effort between PepsiCo and the Arab Youth Center (AYC).
The Arab Youth Center is committed to empowering youthful individuals from the MENA region, addressing their requirements in fields like education, culture, technology, sustainability, and more. The center arranges events, conducts research and development activities, and launches impactful projects and initiatives.
Interested in participating in the hackathon? Applicants should fall within the age range of 18 to 35 and must either be university students or early-stage business visionaries. You can submit applications in groups of two to three participants, with at least one member being above 21 years of age.
PepsiCo, PepsiCo Foundation, Plug and Play, and AYC will select teams from each country and organize a three-day local hackathon in your respective nation. This will encompass mentorship programs and workshops designed to enrich your knowledge and enhance both your novel and existing concepts.
In Saudi Arabia, the hackathon is scheduled to be hosted at The Garage, a technology-oriented collaborative workspace, from Friday, November 3, to Sunday, November 5.
Your concepts will be evaluated based on their originality, economic viability, and potential for expansion. A panel of specialists will assess your concepts from the standpoint of sustainability, emissions reduction, and their impact on agriculture, climate, the circular economy, and water resources.
The ultimate competition will unfold in Dubai during December, featuring the 15 most promising solutions from the five nations. The top three teams will secure seed funding from the PepsiCo Foundation to launch their enterprises, without surrendering equity.
The champion will be granted $30,000, the first runner-up will obtain $20,000, and the second runner-up will be rewarded with $10,000. Furthermore, these teams will partake in a five-month incubation program to cultivate and scale their ideas, ensuring long-term success.
