HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Receives NBA Executive Vice-President
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), had the honor of meeting Joe Dumars, the Executive Vice-President and Head of Basketball Operations of the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the United States.
His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Deputy Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, the Chief Executive Officer of GSA, were also in attendance.
During the meeting, HH Shaikh Khalid praised the NBA for its dedicated efforts in promoting basketball not only in the United States but across the world, highlighting the league’s esteemed reputation.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad and Joe Dumars engaged in discussions concerning opportunities to strengthen their collaboration for the advancement of basketball in Bahrain. They explored the potential to leverage American technical and administrative expertise, particularly in light of the NBA’s growing popularity in the kingdom.
The NBA Executive Vice-President expressed his willingness to cooperate with Bahrain and provide American expertise in the field of basketball. He also expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation.
