Finance Minister Joins Plenary Session of WBG-IMF Board of Governors
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, participated today in the plenary session of the World Bank Group (WBG) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Boards of Governors, held in Marrakech, Morocco. Accompanying him were Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, and Khalid bin Salman bin Jabr Al Musallam, the Bahraini Ambassador to Morocco.
The session also saw the presence of Morocco’s Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, alongside key figures such as Ajay Banga, the President of WBG, and Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the IMF. The event drew participation from finance ministers and central bank governors of Member States, as well as senior officials from the private sector.
Conducted as part of the 2023 WBG-IMF annual meetings, the plenary session delved into global economic matters and explored strategies to expedite the achievement of sustainable development goals.
