ILTM Asia Pacific
ILTM Asia Pacific. Prepare for a groundbreaking edition of the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Asia Pacific. From July 1st to 4th, 2024, Marina Bay Sands will host the largest gathering yet, with a staggering 650 international buyers expected to attend.
Steve O’Loughlin, ILTM’s Hosted Buyers Manager, shared with TTG Asia. “This year’s attendance of 650 accredited buyers marks a notable 28% increase from 2023. Thirty-six percent hail from Australia and New Zealand, while over 100 luxury buyers from China will grace the event – double the previous year’s count.”
Moreover, nine percent of attendees originate from India, underscoring the region’s significance for ILTM.
“With India’s ongoing infrastructure development, including plans for additional airports over the next four to five years, we anticipate a promising surge in outbound travel. It’s crucial for us to engage with buyers involved in India’s burgeoning wealth,” added O’Loughlin.
This surge in attendance reflects the robust interest in travel across the region. Aligning with the expected rise in spending on leisure travel projects by outbound travelers.
O’Loughlin emphasized ILTM’s rigorous buyer selection process, ensuring the participation of top-tier industry decision-makers. Buyers must demonstrate their dealings with high-net-worth individuals and maintain an annual income of at least one million pounds (1.3 million US dollars) to qualify.
Throughout the event, buyers will have 54 pre-scheduled 15-minute appointments, offering ample opportunities for meaningful connections. Additionally, they can engage in various networking opportunities during the Opening Forum and Closing Party. Furthermore, this year’s edition promises increased representation from European and Japanese destinations.
“There has been a noticeable uptick in flights from Asia-Pacific to Europe, with European hotels actively participating in the exhibition. Inbound travel to Japan is also experiencing remarkable growth, with travelers increasingly exploring lesser-known destinations,” explained O’Loughlin.
Among the notable exhibitors are the Los Angeles Tourism Bureau, Edition Hotels, Banyan Tree, Wilderness Safaris, Avalon Waterways, and Uniworld.
