Are you prepared for the “city of tomorrow” in Saudi Arabia? THE LINE NEOM has just been officially disclosed, and it’s anything but your typical urban center.
His Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud unveiled THE LINE on July 25th.
This metropolis will operate entirely on sustainable energy sources, with a primary focus on the welfare and health of its future inhabitants. It also strives to conserve 95% of NEOM’s territory.
The architectural plans for THE LINE NEOM emphasize the outlook of metropolitan communities that are devoid of conventional streets and automobiles.
But that’s not all. THE LINE NEOM’s developments are set to defy the customary flat, horizontal cities by advocating for urban existence integrated with the natural environment through a vertical blueprint.
Curious about what exactly “the line” entails? THE LINE NEOM stretches 200 meters in width, spans 170 kilometers in length, and is perched 500 meters above sea level.
THE LINE NEOM aspires to house 9 million residents within a footprint of 34 square kilometers, a substantial deviation from cities with comparable population capacities.
Additional features in THE LINE NEOM encompass a high-speed rail system with complete transit times of just 20 minutes. Citizens will also have access to city amenities within a brief five-minute stroll.
THE LINE will introduce a concept known as Zero Gravity Urbanism, offering three dimensions of movement (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally).
It appears there will be countless photographic opportunities. The city will also sport an exterior mirrored facade.
