TAORMINA – Corriere della Sera, in a feature piece by correspondent Valerio Cappelli, spotlights the impressive achievements of the Better World Fund, an event that recently took center stage at the Venice International Film Festival. Notably, the BWF 2023 event also highlighted Taormina, where Mayor Cateno De Luca received an accolade. Now, Taormina is poised to become the permanent home of the Better World Fund, beginning in 2024.
Described by Corriere della Sera as “the international forum co-founded by Manuel Collas de la Roche in collaboration with the captivating producer Valentina Castellani Quinn (whose husband was Francesco Quinn, the son of the iconic Anthony Quinn, tragically passing away in 2011 at the age of 48 while playing with his children),” the forum centered on humanitarian causes within the realms of art and cinema.
A special segment titled ‘Empowering Women in the World of Cinema’ was a notable highlight, along with the exciting announcement that the next edition of the event will be hosted in Taormina. De la Roche conveyed, “The film industry provides powerful role models that defy conventional expectations and champion women’s empowerment, contributing to a more equal and inclusive society.” The proceeds from the gala evening will go towards supporting the Maria Callas Foundation, marking the centenary of the soprano’s birth – a woman emblematic of extraordinary talent, passion, and unrelenting dedication.”
