Information Ministry and ‘Bahrainouna’ Launch ‘Bahraini Camera’ Initiative
The Executive Office of the National Plan to promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Patriotism, known as “Bahrainouna,” officially unveiled the “Bahraini Camera” initiative today. This initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Information as part of the third Bahrain Film Festival, under the theme ‘Celebrating the Art of Film-making,’ held at the Seef Mall.
Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, the Information Minister, took the opportunity to express his gratitude to General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister and Chairman of the Bahrainouna Implementation Follow-up Committee. He commended General Shaikh Rashid’s unwavering support for the implementation of the Plan’s various initiatives and acknowledged the diligent efforts of the Executive Office in realizing the Plan’s goals, which are aimed at promoting the authentic values of Bahrain.
Dr. Al Noaimi pointed out that the “Bahraini Camera” initiative is a pioneering endeavor in the Arab world. It involves the participation of 18 Bahraini directors, 10 Bahraini writers, and over 100 Bahraini artists and creative individuals. This initiative is designed to create a unique cinematic experience that aligns with the objectives of Bahrainouna.
He emphasized that this initiative seeks to deepen the role of culture within society and is consistent with the government’s directives to empower youth, prioritize their development, nurture their creative talents, involve them in decision-making processes, and provide them with opportunities to excel in the fields of creativity and innovation, while strengthening their sense of national belonging.
Dr. Ramzan Al Noaimi also noted that this year’s Bahrain Film Festival underscores the Ministry of Information’s role in promoting the film industry, supporting its diverse aspects, and nurturing the development of national talent. It reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to bolster the film industry and enhance local production. He extended his appreciation to all those involved in the “Bahraini Camera” initiative and wished the participants every success.
Brigadier Mohammed bin Daina, who oversees the Bahrainouna Executive Office, emphasized that the “Bahraini Camera” initiative embodies a sense of pride in the royal vision upon which the National Plan is founded. He underlined the significant role played by the Interior Minister’s support in launching this initiative.
Brigadier Mohammed highlighted Bahrain’s pride in its rich cultural heritage and the talents of its youth across various creative domains, whether they are directors, writers, or technicians. He emphasized that Bahrain has emerged as the “Land of Success” in various fields, including cinematic and television productions. He extended his gratitude to the Information Ministry for its valuable partnership in implementing the “Bahraini Camera” initiative and wished all participants great success.
The event included the recognition of authors and directors for their dedicated efforts in creating the participating films, along with the screening of a short film that highlighted the “Bahraini Camera” initiative. Additionally, 18 short films that celebrated authentic Bahraini values were screened during the event.
