Lucid Motors Establishes Saudi Arabia First Car Manufacturing Plant
In a significant milestone for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning industrial sector, Lucid Motors unveiled the country’s maiden automobile manufacturing facility. Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, underlined the nation’s dedication to this transformative industrial vision during his address at the launch event held at King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh Governorate, known as Lucid in Saudi Arabia.
This historic development occurred on a Wednesday when Lucid Group officially opened its doors, signaling a groundbreaking moment for the automotive sector in the Kingdom.
Minister Al-Khorayef emphasized that the National Industrial Strategy has strategically earmarked 12 vital industrial sectors, with the automotive industry prominently featured, as catalysts for industrial expansion within the Kingdom. He pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s ambition extends far beyond merely establishing another car manufacturing facility. Instead, the nation aspires to position itself as a global player in the production of electric vehicles and related components, such as electric batteries. This endeavor underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to investing in the future through cutting-edge technology and innovation.
