Makkah Bus Project Triumphs with 100 Million Users During Trial Period
The Makkah Bus Project has made an impressive mark by providing services to a staggering 100 million individuals during its trial period, as announced by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC). This monumental achievement involved more than 1.7 million trips, firmly establishing the project as one of the most popular public transportation systems in the Middle East and North Africa, enjoyed by both Makkah’s residents and its visitors.
Over the course of a year and a half, the Makkah Bus Project played a pivotal role in alleviating transportation challenges, helping people and visitors in the Holy City fulfill their dreams of hassle-free travel. The initiative not only eased congestion but also contributed to enhancing the overall experience of those journeying to Makkah.
The project’s success can be attributed to the collaborative efforts between the Royal Commission for Makkah City and several other key stakeholders. The Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, Pilgrims Service Program, the Makkah Region Emirate, and the Municipality of the Holy Capital actively participated, working together to exchange valuable insights, and craft strategic and operational plans that were instrumental in realizing the Makkah Bus Project’s grand vision.
