The world’s premier real estate gathering, MIPIM, has once again demonstrated its commitment to nurturing emerging talent with the launch of the third edition of the MIPIM Challengers programme. This initiative shines a spotlight on promising young professionals under 31 who are poised to shape the future of the built environment.
This year, 43 rising stars from across Europe and beyond have been selected, representing nations including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. They hail from a wide array of sectors, from investors and developers to architects, brokers, construction professionals, and tech innovators, reflecting the programme’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
The MIPIM Challengers will join the full event in Cannes next March, gaining complimentary access, exclusive networking sessions, and targeted leadership training designed to equip them for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s real estate market.
Diverse backgrounds, global perspectives
The cohort encompasses a wide spectrum of experience. Some focus on traditional sectors such as commercial real estate, logistics, and serviced apartments, while others explore emerging opportunities in data centres, AI-driven urban planning, and ESG-focused development. Several Challengers already lead initiatives and professional networks, including programs for post-conflict reconstruction, social impact, and urban regeneration.
A new feature of this edition requires candidates to nominate two senior executives from their organisations, who participate in pre-event interviews discussing the future of real estate. These dialogues will be shared across MIPIM channels, further linking emerging talent with industry leaders.
Building leadership and insight
At the event, Challengers will take part in panel discussions, roundtables, and thought leadership projects, collaborating directly with top executives from some of the world’s most influential property companies. Additionally, a bespoke leadership development course offers three personalized coaching webinars and an on-site session focusing on AI applications in real estate, preparing participants to lead transformative initiatives.
The programme emphasizes practical innovation, connecting experience with fresh ideas. Past Challengers have already implemented initiatives like treating embodied carbon as an asset and leveraging blockchain for material tracking, demonstrating that youthful perspectives can directly impact property value, resilience, and sustainability.
Looking forward
Nicolas Boffi, MIPIM Director, commented:
“Congratulations to the 43 Challengers selected this year. This is our largest and most varied cohort to date. Their insights on accessibility, social mobility, and urban innovation will help reshape how cities are designed and experienced. In a world where technical expertise is abundant, these fresh voices bring invaluable understanding of how the next generation wants to live, work, and move.”
MIPIM 2026 will host over 20,000 delegates from around 90 countries, including top global investment managers overseeing trillions in assets. The MIPIM Challengers are set to play a key role in shaping conversations at this influential event, bridging the gap between innovation and industry experience while laying the groundwork for the future of real estate.
With this programme, MIPIM continues to highlight the importance of nurturing talent, embracing diverse perspectives, and driving real-world solutions that shape tomorrow’s urban landscapes.
