Shura Council Holds its First Session in its Third Regular Term of the First Legislative Chapter, Equivalent to the 52nd Annual Session
Doha, October 24 – The Shura Council convened its first session today in its third regular term of the first legislative chapter, which corresponds to the 52nd annual session. The session took place at the “Tamim bin Hamad” Hall within the Council’s headquarters and was presided over by His Excellency Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, the President of the Council.
At the beginning of the session, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadhala, the Secretary-General of the Shura Council, presented the agenda.
Under the first item of the agenda, he read Decree No. 59 of 2023, summoning the Shura Council for its third regular term of the first legislative chapter, which corresponds to the 52nd annual session. We, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, after reviewing the constitution, Law No. 7 of 2021 regarding the Shura Council, and Decree No. 33 of 2023, concluding the second regular term of the first legislative chapter of the Shura Council, hereby decree:
Article (1): The Shura Council shall be called for its third regular term of the first legislative chapter, corresponding to the 52nd annual session, on Tuesday, the ninth of Rabi’ al-Thani in the year 1445 Hijri, corresponding to the twenty-fourth of October in the year 2023 Gregorian.
Article (2): All relevant authorities shall implement this decree within their respective jurisdictions, and it shall take effect upon issuance. It shall be published in the official gazette.
Following this, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, expressed his gratitude, on behalf of himself and the members of the Shura Council, to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State, for graciously opening a new session of the Council in his blessed national journey.
The President of the Council and the honorable members of the Council praised the contents of His Highness the Amir’s speech, considering it a guide for the Council’s work and a beacon lighting its path. They also commended the achievements of the State of Qatar, both domestically and internationally, under the leadership and wisdom of His Highness the Amir.
