Craving a taste of coastal paradise in Abu Dhabi? Prepare for an opulent experience at Bab Al Bahr…
Location Nestled along the sun-kissed shoreline of Khor Al Maqta in Abu Dhabi stands the magnificent Fairmont Bab Al Bahr. This expansive establishment, cloaked predominantly in glistening glass, offers breathtaking vistas of a pristine sandy coastline that lives up to its name, translating to ‘entrance to the sea.’ Overlooking this golden beach is the awe-inspiring Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the jewel in the emirate’s crown.
Aesthetic Appeal More glass means more sunlight. Upon your arrival at your suite, you’ll be enticed to stroll down the sun-drenched corridor, offering a sneak peek of the hotel’s private beach. This moment marks the official commencement of your staycation. Upon returning indoors after an afternoon of basking in the sun, the captivating design of the foyer warmly welcomes you. Elaborate ceiling fixtures illuminate the magnificence of this property.
We arrived at a luxurious Fairmont Gold suite and immediately sank into the incredibly comfortable sofas, indulging in a vibrant assortment of fresh fruits while exploring the myriad of local entertainment options at our disposal. It was easy to get so engrossed that we momentarily overlooked the opulent deluxe suite awaiting our exploration. Many of the accommodations offered breathtaking vistas of the expansive beach and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, serving as a poignant reminder of why we had chosen to reside in this magnificent city. The essence of urban luxury was a constant companion, enhanced by a delightful array of Le Labo bath and body products that lavished care upon us throughout the weekend. Even long after our soak in the in-suite bathtub, which could easily double as a small pool, we emerged looking and feeling as fresh as a daisy.
Dining and Beverages Our entry into the warm and inviting Lobby Lounge welcomed us with an array of invigorating snack and beverage selections. Descending to the lower level, we discovered the property’s three flagship restaurants – an opulent dining experience at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, the lavish international buffet at CuiScene, and Mazaj, which offered some of the finest Mediterranean cuisine in town. Don’t miss the chance to savor Mazaj’s Hibiscus Paradise on a scorching summer day, as it tantalizes your taste buds with robust hibiscus and passionfruit flavors that linger until the last sip. To complement your drink, a refreshing mezze of melt-in-the-mouth Raheb is the perfect accompaniment, with succulent flavors harmonizing seamlessly.
Amenities The hotel’s five-star fitness facility, in collaboration with Volt Fitness, is staffed with top trainers dedicated to helping you achieve your fitness objectives. It boasts an extensive selection of free weights, compound movement machines, cardio equipment, CrossFit gear, and wellness offerings, all conveniently situated just steps from the main lobby. If working up a sweat isn’t on your agenda, a leisurely stroll through the magnificent lobby leads to a private beach, where you’ll ponder whether to relax by the pool, take a dip in the open water, or simply lounge on a tranquil turquoise beach chair.
Closing Thoughts If you ever find yourself yearning for the beach to remain accessible long after the sun has set, know that we share your sentiments. If you feel a sense of reluctance when it’s time to check out, rest assured, we understand. We’re confident that you’ll return soon, and so will we.
