President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will preside over the Second Civil Investiture Ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening, where she will present the prestigious Padma Awards to distinguished individuals from various fields.
The Padma Awards — comprising the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri — are among India’s highest civilian honors. They recognize exceptional contributions in areas such as arts, literature, education, medicine, social work, science and engineering, public affairs, sports, and more.
This evening’s ceremony marks the second of the year and will celebrate individuals whose work has made a lasting impact on Indian society. The government has emphasized honoring “unsung heroes” who have served the nation quietly and selflessly.
The grand ceremony will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President, in the presence of senior dignitaries, ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, and the families of the awardees.
The names of the award recipients were announced earlier on Republic Day, January 26. This formal presentation stands as a proud moment of national recognition and gratitude for those who have significantly contributed to the betterment of the country.
