Saudi Arabia Extends Foreign Driving License Validity for Visitors to One Year
Visitors to Saudi Arabia are now allowed to use their foreign driving licenses for a period of one year, as confirmed by the General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This decision was made in response to a query received by Saudi Moroor via its official Twitter account. A business visitor with a multiple entry visa inquired about the feasibility of using a foreign driving license to operate a vehicle in Saudi Arabia.
The one-year validity period for the foreign driver’s license or international license begins from either the date of entry into the Kingdom or the expiration date of the international or foreign driving license, whichever comes earlier. This new regulation provides greater convenience and flexibility for international travelers who wish to explore Saudi Arabia and drive during their visit.
As a result of this change, tourists and visitors to Saudi Arabia can now enjoy the privilege of using their foreign driving licenses for up to one year, making it easier for them to navigate the country and experience its diverse attractions. This update is in line with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance its tourism infrastructure and provide a more welcoming environment for visitors.
