Key Southern Governorate Development Projects Inspected by Bahraini Officials
Manama, Oct. 24 – Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agricultures, along with His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Southern Governor, conducted a thorough inspection of the Riffa Central Market Development Project and the initial phase of the Ain Al Haninia Development Project.
Present at the inspection were Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Municipalities Affairs Undersecretary, Mohammed Saad Al Sehli, Acting Director-General of the Southern Area Municipality, Abdulla Ibrahim Abdullatif, Southern Area Municipal Council Chairman, and Rawya Al Mannai, Assistant Undersecretary for Joint Municipal Services.
During the visit, the Minister and the Governor assessed the progress of the two projects and were briefed about their current status.
Minister Al Mubarak emphasized the commitment to ongoing development of central markets, highlighting their crucial role in addressing the daily needs of the local population. He specifically pointed out the significance of the Riffa Central Market Development Project within the Southern Governorate. Al Mubarak assured that the administration is actively pursuing the implementation of development and service projects designed to fulfill the aspirations of the citizens.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa reaffirmed the Southern Governorate’s dedication to maintaining direct communication with the local populace to understand their needs and feedback. This approach aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is monitored under the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Highness emphasized that the oversight of progress at various establishments, service facilities, and projects aims to enhance services provided to the Southern Governorate’s residents and citizens.
While inspecting the Riffa Central Market, the Minister received an update on the project’s advancement and was informed that it is set to be inaugurated by the end of the year. The revamped 2361-square-metre Riffa Central Market is designed to meet the requirements of both vendors and visitors, with notable improvements to its facilities.
The Minister also received information regarding the Ain Al Haninia Development Project, which spans across an area of 7020 square meters. This project is dedicated to the preservation of Ain Al Haninia, renowned as one of the most famous water sources in Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf region.
The Southern Area Municipal Council Chairman commended the productive cooperation between the local municipal council and the executive branch in their joint efforts to execute development projects that serve the citizens of the governorate.
